"We
want the feel of an old English library" was how our clients expressed
their style preferences. Taking that cue, we designed this desk as the initial
piece in their home office, setting the tone for the whole room. The beautiful,
traditional styling and detailed craftsmanship are emphasized by the exquisite
finish. In addition to numerous file drawers, doored storage with adjustable
shelving, lighted end display for personal treasures and halogen down lighting
for the work surface, this desk also boasts large pull-out desk top extensions
on each end. Beauty, comfort and functionality are features that show their
importance when a task is at hand. |

This
home office unit was designed to serve many functions. Deep, legal, locking
file cabinets guard each end while the center, with its glass doors, serves
as home for audio componentry. Featuring areas for storage of CDs and DVDs,
this solid cherry piece was designed to match the client’s existing desk
and bookcases on the opposite wall of his office. |

The
rounded, tambour-style panels of this back desk hide drawers in each pedestal.
We designed this to match an imposing desk that we designed and built earlier
for this client. Residing opposite the large desk, this unit serves as an
extended work station and as a printer and fax location. The richly burnished
cherry of this back desk and the accompanying large desk is wrought in a
style which bespeaks reserved elegance. |

This
small desk was an exercise in functionality. The requirements were for a
desk to complement the furnishings in a formal living room that would accomodate
a lap top computer, printer, provide work area and floppy and CD Rom storage,
and be easily moveable. The solid cherry of this roll-about desk is crafted
in careful proportions. Fluted corner pillars, detailed molding, and a deep,
rubbed finish only make more impressive this “little desk that could.” Fold-over
leaf tops open up the desk surface while offering extra work areas on each
side. The complete desk top slides out so that the client can pull the desk
over his lap while seated in an occasional chair. Drawers on the left side
offer storage for computer disks while the bottom faux drawer offers room
for a small printer. A small package, attractively wrapped. |
